MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police and the medical examiner say two people are dead and three others are injured following an overnight shooting in downtown Milwaukee.

The quintuple shooting occurred on Sat. July 12, at around 12:02 a.m., near Water and Michigan Street.

MPD says a 52-year-old died at the scene. Four others were sent to the hospital with injuries, including a 30-year-old, 32-year-old, 34-year-old and a 39-year-old.

Later, the medical examiner confirmed that a second person has died. No further details have been released at this time.

Community leaders and loved ones gathered for a vigil for the 52-year-old near 60th and Fond Du Lac - calling for the violence to stop.

"We are tired of seeing babies' lives being cut too short, adults' lives being cut too short," said Pastor Charmon Pittman of the Evolve Church. "Any act of violence is a wound to the soul of the community and we can't keep allowing these things to continue to happen."

Friends and family have identified the 52-year-old as Antwan Hogans, also known as OG Tweezy.

No arrests have been made as Milwaukee police continue to search for unknown suspect(s).

MPD addressed the violence in a statement to media:

"MPD has been proactively working with our intergovernmental partners including the Common Council and the City Attorney’s Office to address these issues. MPD is dedicated to working with our elected officials, our public safety partners and the community to cultivate a safe environment for everyone to enjoy our city especially during this summer. MPD asks that we all do better at resolving conflict without resorting to gun violence. MPD will not tolerate violent behavior in our city and will hold those who engage in violence accountable."
