1 dead after crash involving semi-truck, pick-up truck in Kenosha Co.
KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead after a Kenosha County crash on Thursday, Jan. 16.
It happened at the intersection of CTH-N and CTH-MB in the town of Paris around 6 a.m.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, a semi-truck was traveling north and failed to stop at a stop sign. The semi-truck proceeded through the intersection as the victim, a 70-year-old pickup-truck driver, was traveling west.
The pick-up truck crashed into the trailer of the semi where it became stuck under the trailer. The 70-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was the only one in the vehicle.
The semi-truck driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the sheriff's office. The use of intoxicants is not expected to be a factor.
The intersection was shut down for over five hours.
The sheriff's office would like to remind the community to drive the posted speed limits and drive distraction-free.
