11 transported to hospital after school bus crash in Racine County

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- 11 people, 10 children and one adult, were transported to a hospital after a bus accident on Thursday, July 18. 

It happened around 12:15 p.m. near Cth N and Church Road in the Town of Dover. 

According to the Kansasville Fire & Rescue, they responded to a report of an accident involving a school bus. Upon arrival, authorities arrived on scene to find a school bus blocking the intersection after impacting the minivan. The school bus was occupied by 46 children and 5 adults enroute to a summer camp roller skating event. The minivan was occupied by an adult driver and three children. Paramedics assessed those in the minivan and all four declined further treatment of ambulance transport. 

KFD says, in total, 11 people, 10 children, and 1 adult, were transported from the scene via five ambulances, with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening. 

All remaining children that were not injured were transported from the scene by another bus, and some children were picked up by their parents. 

The Racine County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
