12-Year-old boy struck by stolen vehicle
Milwaukee - A 12-year-old boy is recovering after a driver struck him with an SUV, while the young boy was riding on his bicycle. Police confirmed the driver did not stop to help. Dennis Taylor suffered a broken arm, a broken pelvis, a bruised liver, a concussion, and cuts to his body. On August 18th, Taylor says he went for a ride on his bicycle near his home in the afternoon along 47th and Fiebrantz Avenue on city's west side. The young boy says he checked his surroundings, but then out of nowhere, the driver in a Jeep Cherokee struck him from behind, before the SUV collided into a tree.
\"Next thing I know I was hit, my bike flew one way, shoes flew another way, and I flew into the grass. I saw three guys get out the truck. One from the front, two from the back, and they took off.\" Says, Dennis Taylor.
Milwaukee Police confirmed the SUV was stolen, and investigators don't have any solid leads in the case. Dennis is back home to continue his recovery. But he's expected to be in a wheelchair for six to eight weeks. Anyone with information on the driver or the suspects is asked to call the Milwaukee Police Department.
