Happy Winter Solstice! We've made it to the shortest day of the year with exactly 9 hours of daylight today.

It'll be a chilly Winter Solstice with temps only warming into the upper teens to low 20s this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Wind will be light, so wind chills won't be too brutal.

Temps will be around ten degrees warmer on Sunday, but there will be an increase in both clouds and wind. Temps warm into the upper 30s to low 40s on Monday and will stay that warm throughout the week.

Dry weather persists throughout the weekend, but a light wintry mix will pass through on Monday. This may be in the form of a light mix of freezing drizzle and snowflakes early Monday morning, transitioning to more rain and wet snowflakes as the day progresses. Watch out for slippery spots if you're traveling Monday morning!

Additional light drizzle is possible on Christmas Day, but temps will be well above freezing by then. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to keep tabs on the forecast leading into the holidays.
