New video shows 130 mph chase through Fond du Lac County farm field, woman arrested
FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- New video was released Thursday, Jan. 29, from the Fond Du Lac County Sheriff's Office showing a high-speed chase that eventually came to an end in the middle of field.
It started early Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, deputies spotted a car going 130 miles per hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. A 13 mile chase ensued, eventually ending when the car went off the road when the woman hit a dead end.
That's when deputies used their cars to box her in.
Police had to taze 28-year-old Jenna Burmeister, before finally making the arrest.
Her charges are still pending.
FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 28-year-old Green Bay woman was arrested early Wednesday, Jan. 28 after a police chase that reached 130 mph and ended in a Fond du Lac County farm field.
A Fond du Lac County sheriff's deputy saw a car traveling 130 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Highway 26 near Fremont Rd. around 2:20 a.m. The driver reportedly refused to stop and sped through the Village of Rosendale at over 100 mph.
Deputies deployed tire deflation devices on State Highway 26 near County Highway TC, causing the car to lose a tire. The driver briefly stopped near State Highway 151 but fled again onto Frontage Rd.
Police say the car entered a farm access road and drove through a field toward a residential neighborhood. Deputies used a moving roadblock to stop the vehicle and protect nearby homes. The driver continued fleeing until additional deputies arrived and boxed her i n.
She reportedly refused to leave the vehicle. Deputies broke the driver's side window and used a taser when she resisted.
She was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of felony flee and elude, recklessly endangering safety and resisting an officer. Three squad cars were damaged during the arrest. The chase lasted around 13 miles.
