MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The victim shot and killed Tuesday night near 92nd and Birch has been identified by the Milwaukee Medical Examiner's Office as 15-year-old Tyler Brooks.
Police responded to a fatal shooting near 92nd and Birch after 7 p.m. Tuesday night, May 9.
Brooks died from his injuries at a local hospital about two hours after.
Milwaukee police said they've reported nine young people, ages 10 to 18 years old, have died in shootings so far this year.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson responded to the latest young gun violence victim.
"Another teenager killed is awful. It's terrible. And I think that people should be cognizant, and this event, I think can remind people about the danger of being in crowds of multiple people firing off weapons. They can have deadly consequences and that's exactly what we saw, unfortunately, for this teenager last night," said Johnson.
Police said they are investigating what transpired in the shooting. They currently have no one in custody and continue to look for the suspect (s).
