16-year-old arrested in connection to shooting during Milwaukee Lutheran homecoming game

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The teenager arrested in connection with shooting at a Milwaukee Lutheran homecoming game was in court via Zoom on Thursday, Oct. 5.

It was ruled that the teen must stay in custody for now. The attorney wanted the teen released to the mom on GPS monitoring. The issue will be revisited at pre-trial hearing Oct. 25.

Milwaukee police say a 16-year-old has been taken into custody in connection to the shooting at a Milwaukee Lutheran homecoming football game Friday, Sept. 23.

We heard from parents Tuesday, who said it's hard to imagine their kids in danger at a homecoming game.

"It's a tough pill to swallow, and you hate to even know that that has happened in your area, or let alone to a person you know, and it's just unbelievable," said D'Juan Hill, whose son was at the game.

Officials say several rounds of gunfire were heard as the Milwaukee Lutheran football game was in its third quarter.

That sent students, staff and fans running

In an email, the school said students would have class virtually for the rest of the week.
