FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old Campbellsport man has died after a motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac County Tuesday, June 24. 

The sheriff's office says it happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of County Highway V and Auburn-Ashford Drive in the Town of Auburn. 

A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling south on County Highway V when it struck a pickup truck proceeding eastbound from the stop sign on Auburn-Ashford Drive. 

The motorcycle traveled into the southeast ditch and the pickup came to rest on Auburn-Ashford Drive. 

Sheriff's officials say the motorcycle operator died at the scene, despite lifesaving efforts. 

The pickup driver, a 32-year-old Campbellsport man, was treated and released at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Officials say speed appears to be a factor in the crash. 

An investigation is ongoing.
