2 killed in separate Jefferson County crashes Tuesday
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says two people died in separate crashes Tuesday, Oct. 24.
The first crash happened just before 9 p.m. in the Town of Farmington. Officials say a vehicle traveling eastbound on Resort Drive at a high rate of speed failed to stop at a stop sign at County Highway Y. The vehicle crossed over the highway and hit a structure, an unattended vehicle and a tree. The driver was taken to an area hospital where they died of their injuries.
The second crash occurred in the Town of Waterloo at 10:18 p.m. Authorities say a vehicle was traveling southbound on Younker Lane at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve where Younker meets Peschel Road. The vehicle struck a tree and became fully engulfed. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
