2020 DNC Committee launches Internship Program

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) is looking to hire interns.

According to the DNC 2020 website, the DNC Internship Program will provide young people from Wisconsin a chance to participate in the political process, to see how large-scale events are created, and to learn new skills that will help them grow both personally and professionally.

The website says, interns will work side-by-side with DNCC staff and have the opportunity to see the unique process that goes into building a national political convention. Interns will support the day-to-day functions of their assigned DNCC department and will perform a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, supporting senior staff, preparing memos, attending meetings and events, providing operational and logistical support, assisting with special projects, and any other duties that are needed.

The DNC Internship Program runs May 18 - July 20, 2020. Interns will be provided a stipend of $1,440 per month. Interns will be additionally compensated for the extra time they are working during the period of July 6-16.

High level of professionalism
Preference will be given to applicants who are from Milwaukee and/or Wisconsin.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
The DNCC will mainly operate out of the Headquarters Office but will also maintain a number of satellite offices and additional venues. These spaces range from professional office environments to construction sites and will require the operation of office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. This position requires the ability to frequently stand and/or walk for both short and long periods of time. Interns may be asked to do tasks requiring dexterity or lifting items weighing up to 15 pounds. All interns may request a reasonable accommodation to perform their job tasks.
