WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The 172nd Wisconsin State Fair kicked off Thursday, Aug. 3, bringing food, fun, furry animals and more to Wisconsin State Fair Park.

General admission tickets cost $18 for adults, but if you get them online you can get tickets for $17. For seniors, and kids ages 6-11, it's $13. Kids under age 5 get in free.

If you're looking for a discount, Wells Fargo and Hunger Task Force are teaming up to let people into the fair for $5 -- all you have to do is donate two cans of fruits or vegetables.

The deal runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3.

If you plan on driving to the fair, there will be an added cost for parking. General parking is $15 per car, while preferred parking is $25. If you plan on riding your motorcycle to the fairgrounds, parking is $8.

If you don't want to deal with parking, there are some other options to help you get to the fair. This year, there's a new bar shuttle program. Several locations in Milwaukee will give you a ride to the fair. You can see participating spots HERE.

In addition, the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) has two routes which offer regular daily rides to the fairgrounds.

All parking is first come, first serve with most of the lots opening at 9 a.m. each day of the fair.
