2025 goes down as the coolest Father's Day in a while, but the heat is lurking

If you spent Father's Day in the greater Milwaukee area, you may have thought it was a tad bit cool. You were not wrong.
Of all the major reporting sites in southeastern Wisconsin, Milwaukee was the coolest.
And with that low reading, that makes this the coolest Father's Day in Milwaukee since 2019 (when the high only hit 57 degrees).
Compared to last year, this was a sharp difference. You might remember Father's Day last year, when the high tagged 93 degrees!
While last year was a hot one, it's not the hottest ever on record. That award goes to the year 1995.
We have yet to see 90s in Milwaukee so far in 2025. But based on the latest forecast data, that may change in about a week front now. We are seeing signals that some very warm air is set to invade Wisconsin. Tuesday could get extra toasty but next Saturday and Sunday we appear to be knocking on the door of 90 degrees.
Along with that, expect the humidity values to shoot up. You'll notice it a few times this week.
How fitting that it's about to heat up around here, right as the official start to summer kicks off this coming Friday. Prep your freezer with popsicles and make sure your A/C is ready to go.
