EAST TROY, Wis. (CBS 58) — Three people were taken for medical evaluation after a plane carrying four people crashed Sunday in the Town of East Troy.

According to a joint release from the Town of East Troy Police Department and East Troy Fire and Rescue, emergency crews responded to the crash in the area of Carvers School Road.

Authorities said the aircraft had four occupants.

Three were taken for medical evaluation, while the fourth person was evaluated and released at the scene.

The response included personnel from the Town of East Troy Police Department, East Troy Fire and Rescue, the Walworth County Sheriff's Department and the Village of East Troy Police Department.

Authorities also credited the Walworth County Communications Center with helping coordinate the emergency response and thanked Sky Dive Milwaukee for providing assistance during the incident.

Officials said the information released Sunday is preliminary.

The Federal Aviation Administration will lead the investigation into the crash and is working with the Town of East Troy Police Department.

Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
