MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- College-bound students from all over Wisconsin were in Milwaukee on Saturday to learn about diverse colleges and universities.
Representative LaKeshia Myers and Senator Lena Taylor hosted the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Historically Black College and University (HBCU) and Tribal College Fair for high school students.
The fair is the culminating event of HBCU & Tribal College Week in Wisconsin.
The fair included interactive workshops and presentations on NCAA clearinghouse processes for student athletes, financial aid, a panel discussion, scholarship opportunities, and information on college admissions essays.
"Historically black colleges and universities and tribal colleges are not just for students of color. It's for all students and so, also students who are not students of color should be interested because they need diversity and there are scholarships available for you," said Sen. Lena Taylor.
Over 40 historically black colleges were at the event as well as two Wisconsin tribal colleges.
