4 injured, including 2 children, in Beaver Dam crash

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities say four people were injured, including two children, after a crash in Beaver Dam Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Deputies with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash on County Highway A at Ollinger Road just before 4:30 p.m.

Officials say a 52-year-old man driving a Volkswagen was stopped on north County Highway A, waiting for southbound traffic to go by to conduct a left turn onto Ollinger Road.

A 48-year-old woman driving a Toyota north on County Highway A failed to stop behind or go around the Volkswagen, striking the back of the vehicle.

Authorities say the Volkswagen driver and Toyota driver sustained minor injuries.

Two children in the Toyota, including an 11-year-old and 14-year-old, sustained serious injuries. They were both taken to UW Hospital in Madison, the 14-year-old by EMS and the 11-year-old by MedFlight helicopter.

The crash remains under investigation.
