MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police have confirmed one person is in custody in connection with the death of a 5-year-old boy who allegedly shot himself Tuesday.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office says it is responding to the death of a 5-year-old boy.
Authorities say the boy was shot. The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating the incident.

Chaplains were also on scene consoling the family. According to one of the chaplains, the mother was sleeping, heard a pop and found her son shot.
"Please, please lock those guns up, go and get a lock, put it somewhere locked up so that these children cannot get ahold of these guns," said Malcolm Hunt, chaplain.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
