52-year-old Kenosha man dies following major car crash in Somers

SOMERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The 52-year-old man that was killed in a crash in Kenosha Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 has been identified as Isaac A. Melendez, a resident of Kenosha, WI.


SOMERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 52-year-old Kenosha man has died following a vehicle crash on Friday, Nov. 26, in the Village of Somers, According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 3:54 p.m. Friday.

Reports indicate that Kenosha County deputies, detectives, and Fire/Rescue personnel from the Village of Somers responded to the crash near 6th and Green Bay in Somers for a "serious vehicle crash."

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office says that a 2007 Subaru Forester was traveling northbound on Green Bay Road, crossed over the curbed median into the southbound lanes, and struck a 2021 Lincoln Navigator head-on.

Officials report that the driver of the Subaru, a 52-year-old Kenosha man, was flown on Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee where he later died from his injuries.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office adds that the driver of the Lincoln Navigator, a 35-year-old Kenosha man and his front-seat passenger, a 26-year-old Kenosha woman, sustained severe injuries and were taken to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Authorities say that both individuals are expected to survive.

The investigation is reportedly still active.
