55 pounds of acid spilled from delivery truck at Burlington facility

BURLINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities responded to an acid leak from a delivery truck on Friday, June 7. 

It happened at Applied Material Solutions (AMS) in Burlington around 10:00 a.m. 

According to the Burlington Fire Department, they received a call from a manager at Applied Material Solutions stating that there was a sulfuric acid leak from a delivery truck. 

Upon arrival, crews arrived on scene to find the building evacuated. It was determined that the leak came from a tractor trailer delivering product to the facility. The fire department says approximately 10 gallons/ 55 lbs of product had leaked and was all contained in the facility containment area. 

There was also a leak in the parking lot. 

AMS personnel were able to offload the 3,000 gallons of acid on the truck and clean up the spilled acid. 

No injuries were reported and there was no danger to the public.
