68-year-old man injured in Washington County semi crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 68-year-old man was injured Wednesday morning, March 1, following a semi crash in Washington County.

The sheriff's office says they received multiple 911 calls reporting a crash in the southbound lanes of I-41 north of Highway 145 just after 6 a.m.

Officials say the semi was driving northbound on I-41 when it drifted into the median, passed over the barrier cables, crossed both southbound lanes of traffic and came to rest in the west shoulder of I-41. The semi is said to be the only vehicle involved in the incident.

Authorities say inattentive driving appears to be a factor.

The driver was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
