MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One very special local kid was gifted a dream bedroom makeover.
Eight-year-old Autumn of Milwaukee is battling Acute Leukemia Lymphoma.
Today, on Sept. 8, her family was greeted by dozens of volunteers with Northwestern Mutual Foundation and Special Spaces for the big unveiling.
This girl now has a forest-themed room complete with a tent-canopy bed and a huge stuffed bear.
"For a child you have so many challenges working through cancer like that just to get a moment of joy and something really special, it's a great opportunity and really glad that Northwestern Mutual could make it happen," said Northwestern Mutual President Steve Radke.
This is all a part of Northwestern Mutual's 10-year anniversary of its childhood cancer program.
The company is partnering with non-profit organization, Special Spaces,to surprise a total of ten kids facing childhood cancer with dream bed makeovers this fall.
