'A deep loss': Community rallies around family of fallen MPD Officer Jerving
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Three days after Milwaukee Police Officer Peter Jerving was killed in the line of duty, support for him and his family is coming in many ways.
The 37-year-old was shot and killed Feb. 7 while trying to apprehend a robbery suspect near 14th and Cleveland.

Jerving's family says the officer was a religious man holding his faith close to his heart.
"That hope and belief in God and that Peter is with God is kind of a comforting thought for so many of us. But even though it comforts use to know that it's still a deep loss," said Pastor Alexis Twito, Jerving family spokesperson.
The funeral for Officer Jerving will be held at Elmbrook Church. A public visitation is set to start at 9 a.m. and the funeral for Jerving will be at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony will be livestreamed.
