WAUKESHA (CBS 58) -- After two years and twenty million dollars, the city of Waukesha has its grand opening of its new City Hall. And the timing couldn't be better. Today marks the 125th birthday of Waukesha becoming incorporated itself.
The previous city hall was built in the 1960s and recently had posed safety, maintenance, and operational concerns.
The new building works to correct any past issues. It also brings the city hall and annex into one location, creating a more centralized location for area residents.
The first council meeting in the new city hall will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4. If interested, you're being asked to watch it virtually because of Covid safety measures. Click here if you'd like to see it. The street address of the new city hall site is still 201 Delafield Street in Waukesha.
