A Milwaukee summer tradition turns 40: A La Carte at the zoo returns with music, food and fun
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - A beloved Milwaukee summer tradition is celebrating a major milestone as A La Carte at the Zoo marks its 40th anniversary this year.
The Milwaukee County Zoo brings the celebration to life with a mix of live music, local food and, naturally, plenty of animals. More than 30 Milwaukee-area restaurants will serve favorites throughout the festival grounds, while entertainment will fill six stages with performances from local, regional and national acts.
The 2026 lineup features national headliners across three nights. Lovelytheband takes the stage Thursday, August 20, followed by Chris Lane and jackrabbit. featuring Dermot Mulroney on Friday, August 21. Tank and the Bangas will close out the national lineup Saturday, August 22.
Food is just as much a part of the tradition. Saz’s is among the two vendors that have been part of A La Carte at the Zoo for all 40 years. This year, the Milwaukee favorite will bring pretzels and dips along with one of its signature combo offerings.
With six stages, dozens of restaurants and the Zoo’s animals serving as a backdrop, the anniversary celebration offers a chance to experience a Milwaukee favorite with something for nearly everyone.
After four decades, A La Carte at the Zoo remains a summer staple -bringing together music, food and the unique experience of enjoying a festival surrounded by wildlife.
