MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- St. Vincent De Paul is opening its third Milwaukee location on Friday, Jan. 26. The racks are full, and the shelves are stocked.

"I really love this place and it took a lot to get it to where it is now," said Ross Tessmer, the new store manager.

The store allows Tessmer to combine two of his favorite things: thrifting and giving back to the community.

"At the end of the day, the mission is super important to me and my whole team. We've all been there where we need a little bit of extra help," said Tessmer.

St. Vincent De Paul's goal is neighbors helping neighbors. Last year, the nonprofit made 9,000 home visits, offering help for everything from spiritual guidance to financial support. And those programs are funded in part by people who shop at the thrift stores.

"If somebody has the money to buy something nicer, that helps us fund us so we can put stuff cheaper elsewhere," said Tessmer.

You can find everything from affordable home essentials to big-ticket vintage finds. They also offer a gift card program where people can shop for necessities free of charge.

"You can get clothes, you can get the dishes that you need, you can get furniture," said Tessmer.

The new location opens at 10 a.m. Friday. They will offer shortened hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until April.
