MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An organization that helps disabled veterans is giving them an opportunity a whole new experience.
The Wisconsin Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America presented at new action Trackchair to Adaptive Works, an organization that aims to adapt work environments for physically disabled veterans and individuals. One of the projects by adaptive works is a farm that sells greens to restaurants and farmers markets.
The new Trackchair will help disabled individuals participate on the farm in a way an ordinary wheelchair cannot.
"It just gives us the opportunity to go to places we normally couldn't that I'm more than capable of moving in my chair but if it's any type of rough, tough surface as far as even tall grass or sand or something like that it's pretty limited as to what a manual chair can do so with this those limitations are gone," said Derrick Trentin with Paralyzed Veterans of America-Wisconsin.
Action Trackchairs can cost up to $15,000.
