Actor Jason Momoa promotes new vodka in Milwaukee area, meets thousands of fans
NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One of Hollywood's biggest stars was in the Milwaukee area on Thursday, Oct. 19, drawing quite the crowd.
Jason Momoa is best known for his larger-than-life characters in Game of Thrones and the Aquaman movies.
He came to New Berlin and Brookfield Thursday to promote his new vodka line, and fans are showed up by the thousands to see him.
"Something cool to do, when do we get Jason Momoa in Wisconsin?" said Airrian Guyant, who traveled from Mayville, Illinois.
His first appearance was at Costco in New Berlin. Thousands of fans lined up, to get their special moment with the Hawaiian actor.
"Love him. Love the movies. Plus, he's really one-hundred percent hot," said Mary Herman, of Sheboygan.
"I'm in it for the hair. I want to see his hair," said Cindy Stock, from Mukwonago.
Momoa signed bottles of his new spirit, Meili Vodka, and certainly drew a crowd.
"We had members waiting since 10:00 last night, camping out, so that was pretty amazing. The line was all the way around the building," said John Topping, the assistant general manager at Costco. "We had people that drove all the way from Madison, all the way from Michigan. So, the excitement's amazing."
By noon, Costco sold 1,800 signed bottles of Meili.
For his biggest fans, the short interaction was totally worth it.
"Absolutely couldn't breathe. Almost passed out," said Tina from Lake Geneva, who was first in line.
If you missed Momoa in Wisconsin and want a signed bottle, get ready for a road trip - the next signing event is Friday in the Twin Cities.
