Admirals to honor Bob Uecker with helmet stickers and special jerseys
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Admirals will pay tribute to Milwaukee icon and Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker throughout the season following his passing on Thursday, Jan. 16.
Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced the plans on Wednesday, Jan. 22, which include helmet stickers reading "UECK" and a moment of silence before the game against Rockford on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Panther Arena.
As part of the tribute, the team will wear brown and yellow plaid jerseys, originally created for a 1994 commercial featuring Uecker, during their final game of the season on Friday, April 18 against the Chicago Wolves.
The jerseys will later be auctioned with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity Uecker supported.
