After nearly 5 hours, standoff ends with 1 taken into custody

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police responded to a home near Medford Ave. and Tamarack St. with a gun complaint around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31st.

Police say that a 24-year-old male, who they say was armed with a gun, reportedly fired several gunshots inside the home while officers were trying to contact him. No officers were injured and no officers on the scene discharged their firearms.

Nearly five hours into the standoff, the suspect was taken into custody by police. 

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
