CBS 58 WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It was all aboard for the Kettle Moraine Ballast Scorchers 24th Annual Train Show and swap meet.
"Every shape and form of people walking through the door," said Jack Sommerfeld, with Sommerfeld's Trains and Hobbies.
Hundreds of collectors and trains enthusiasts attended the event at Washington County Fair Park in West Bend Sunday.
"From the smallest one of the Z scale, all the way up to G scale stuff, the Lionel trains that are running around the Christmas tree and such and everything in between you can find here," said Adam Bunkelman, with the Kettle Moraine Ballast Scorchers Model Railroad Club.
For many, the event has become a cherished tradition.
"The beautiful thing about railroading is that there’s not a right way or the wrong way," said Sommerfeld. "There’s 10 different ways to do the same different thing and everything works for everyone and there’s not a right or wrong way."
For others, it’s a whole new world of excitement.
“I love trains,” said Bayden Koch, a three-year-old train lover.
From spooky trains to cars on the track for a good cause, and everything inbetween, the show continues to grow.
“When we first started, we maybe had 15 tables roughly into layouts and now we are up to 7 layouts and over 150 tables," said Bunkelman.
The models on display are inspiring the next generation.
"For a family to come out it’s a lot of fun, because you can see the joy in the kid's eyes," said Bunkelman.
While collectors say they secured some good finds, others say they were just amazed by the sights and sounds.
