An 'udderly' fun game: Milwaukee Milkmen return to the field for Friday night season opener
FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Milkmen will play the first game of the season tonight, Friday, May 9, at 6:35 p.m. CBS 58 was on the field with in-game host Van McNeil to show off everything the team has prepared for an "udderly" fun season.
"You don't need to be a baseball fan," said McNeil. "There's always something going on. From the game play on the field, which is exceptional, we have a great team this year, but we bring the fun between the innings as well."
The season opener is against Gary Indiana's SouthShore RailCats. Fans will get a schedule magnet at the game. Game one kicks off a three-game home stand. On Saturday, May 10, the first 500 fans will get a cowbell. On Sunday, May 11, for Mother's Day, there will be giveaways and fun planned for all the moms as well.
The fun starts before the first pitch with a tailgate.
"Tonny Romero has taken over the Milkmen Burger Company kitchen. He's offering tacos, quesadillas... we've got this big pregame tailgate party. He brings a taco truck and serves the food right out of there. It's amazing," said McNeil.
Tickets are available now for 50 home games at Franklin Ballpark.
