Annual fall temperature rollercoaster has arrived

Milwaukee notched its 141st day in the 70s this year on Tuesday, but a northeast wind will prevent us from adding to that tally today. Temps will be steady in the low to mid 60s lakeside this afternoon while inland locations make a run at 70.

Temps will be warmer away from the lake once again on Thursday, but the wind will be from the southeast which should warm temps into the upper 60s lakeside and low 70s inland. Wind turns to the southwest on Friday which will have temps making a run at 80° area-wide before a series of cold fronts drop temps into the 50s for highs by the start of next week.

This will be Milwaukee's first high in the 50s in almost five months.

The cold front that passes through Friday night into early Saturday morning will likely move through dry, but we can't rule out an isolated sprinkle. A secondary cold front and low pressure system will bring a little better chance for showers on Sunday with an isolated chance lingering into Monday.
