Warmer to end the week with more rain chances
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Before the parades and picnics started Thursday morning, Milwaukee Catholic Archbishop Jerome Listecki celebrated a special Fourth of July Mass at Christ King Church in Wauwatosa.
He called it a Mass of thanksgiving to God for living in America.
The archbishop pointed out that America's Independence Day celebration is different than other countries who stage parades that show off their military strength.
"We celebrate with parades of a different sort, families waving the flag, individuals who basically have barbecues and who have meetings," said Archbishop Listecki. "We celebrate, we celebrate ours as family."
Archbishop Listecki, who's now 75 years old, has sent a retirement letter to the Vatican.
He's now waiting for his successor to be named.
