Barn is a complete loss following fire in Dane County

ALBION, Wis. (CBS 58) --- A barn in Dane County is a complete loss following a fire on Sunday, April 18.

According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a barn fire in Albion around 10:30 a.m. It happened in the 600 block of Hillside Road.

Officials say deputies discovered the barn fully engulfed in flames and could not be saved. There had been a controlled burn behind the barn and when the wind shifted, the barn caught on fire. 

According to police, the barn was empty at the time of the fire. The estimated loss is approximately $75,000.

Fire departments from Edgerton, Ft. Atkinson, Cottage Grove, Janesville, and Milton also responded to the fire.
