MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee philanthropists Barri and Dave Drury donated $10 million to Children's Wisconsin to support research, innovation and talent retention and recruitment, the hospital announced Wednesday, Feb. 4.

The gift aims to go towards Brighter Than Ever, the largest campaign in Children's Wisconsin history. The donation will support the Children's Research Institute through the Drury Family Discovery Fund, and the hospital said it will also help Children's Wisconsin retain and recruit top medical and scientific talent.

Children's Wisconsin President and CEO Gil Peri said the Drurys are among the hospital's most steadfast supporter.

The Drurys have been connected to Children's Wisconsin for more than 40 years as volunteers, benefactors and advocates. Barri is a community volunteer and former nurse. Dave is an investor and retired business owner.

Children's Wisconsin will name its board room and adjacent spaces the Barri and David Drury Leadership Suite.
