Milwaukee (CBS 58) -- The Smashing Pumpkins are an iconic 90s band and, if you're a pro-wrestling fan, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) is an important part of wrestling history. At the front of both, Billy Corgan. And both are coming to Wisconsin in the next three weeks.

"Wrestling is one of those crazy things where it makes no sense unless you're really into it or you're in it." said Corgan. "It's almost impossible to explain other than I just think it's really fun to put on a show and I love entertaining fans. Our wrestling product is very voiced for the family because that's the wrestling I grew up on."

National Wrestling Alliance

NWA's Samhain Part IV comes to the Turner Hall Ballroom this Sunday, September 27th. The NWA was a kind of umbrella wrestling organization that helped organize all the smaller, regional territories before WWF took over and basically wiped out the previous model. It was the kind of place where the 'Man that made Milwaukee famous,' The Crusher was a tag team champion. In fact, a tribute to the Crusher will be part of Sunday's show in Milwaukee. The NWA has had a resurgence under Corgan, once again helping to support territories from Texas to Chicago.

Meanwhile, Corgan is beginning the Rats in a Cage tour with the Smashing Pumpkins to celebrate 30 years since one of their biggest hits and biggest albums. They'll be back in Wisconsin on Sunday, October 11th at the Kohl Center in Madison. The band just played a big show last month at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

"Right now, our audience is very young, which was kind of a pleasant surprise." Corgan said. "I really think that some of the themes of the band, sort of lost innocence of youth and being a bit feisty, seem to resonate with a lot of young people."

CBS 58 Morning News anchor (and independent pro-wrestler) 'Iron' Mike Curkov went one-on-one with Corgan on pro-wrestling, the new generation of Pumpkins fans, and even the Cubs-Brewers rivalry (Corgan is a noted Cubs fan).
