Body found and identified after fire at Union Grove home

UNION GROVE, Wis. (CS 58) -- A body was found after a Union Grove fire that happened on Thursday, Feb. 20.
The fire happened at a two-story home around 8:18 p.m. near 11th and New St.
No injuries were initially reported. According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, once the fire was extinguished, deputies located a charred body at the residence.
The sheriff's office identified the victim as 38-year-old Jeffery Paradise from the Black River Falls area. They say he owned a construction company and was staying in the home while renovating the house. Space heaters were being used in the room he was in, according to the sheriff's office.
The cause of death and fire remain under investigation.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeffrey Paradise and his friends, family, and loved ones," stated Sheriff Schmaling in a release.
