Body found on Lake Michigan Beach in Manitowoc County

(WFRV) The Manitowoc County Sheriff's office is working to identify a body that was found on the shore of Lake Michigan  Tuesday afternoon. 

Deputies say the body was found just after noon near the 5700 block of Lakeshore Road in the Town of Newton. 

So far, no information about the body, or its identity has been released. 

Local 5 News will update this story as more details come available. 

The discovery comes two weeks after a sailboat capsized off the coast of Two Rivers on September 12th. 

The Manitowoc County Sheriff's department and the Coast Guard was looking for a man who was reportedly in the boat when it capsized and has been missing. 

So far, there is no word on whether the two incidents are connected.
