Bodycam captures Fond du Lac County sheriff's deputy rushing into burning apartment
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office deputy wasted no time coming to the rescue when he heard there was an apartment complex on fire last week.
Knowing he was the closest responder, he went into action and started to put out the fire -- and saved a dog.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office released body camera footage from Deputy Jason Bruggink.
After Bruggink and two other deputies made sure everyone was out safely, Bruggink went back in to try and put out the fire in the attic. That's when he found and rescued the dog, later reuniting the dog with their owner.
Fond du Lac fire and rescue says if Deputy Bruggink didn't arrive so quickly, it would have likely spread and destroyed much more of the apartment complex.
