Boys and Girls Club kids get lesson about STEM at State Fair

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The state fair has begun in Milwaukee!

Kids from the Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, Aug. 1, had the chance to get a behind- the- scenes look at some of the state fair operations this year. US Cellular invited the group to learn more about STEM (Science, Technolgy Engineering, Mathematics), and how it's applied at the fair. Kids got the chance to see how the Ferris wheel operates and how cream puffs are made- A fun experience for all involved. 

"Our young people need this experience" said Deonte Lewis, vice president of Camp and Club operations. "We get the chance to get them out of their element into a space where some of them will frequent with their families."

After learning about the cream puffs. The participants were able to try one of the state fair delicacies.
