MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Officer Michalski was important to the community and that's why in the aftermath of his passing, many fundraisers have been set up to help the family.
On Thursday, The Boys and Girls Club hosted a lemonade stand.
They weren't just selling lemonade and cookies, they were running it.
"I decided to be a part of it because I feel like it's very important to know that what the officer did is so sad and it's a horrible tragedy so I decided, we all decided to help for his funeral funds," said Madison Perkins.
People came and went all afternoon to show their support and help to raise funds for the fallen officer's family.
They weren't the only ones hoping to help. Jen's Sweet Treats confirms that nearly $10,000 was raised for the family after their fundraiser on Wednesday.
In just six days, over $40,000 of the $50,000 goal has been donated online to the official Milwaukee Police Department's sanctioned GoFundMe page.
One person who came out for the lemonade says it's just one way to offer support. "The police force is near and dear to me. My best friend is a police officer in Wauwatosa and she is the SRO there so this was just so important to come out and support an incredible cause like this and just show my support. Not only for the community of Milwaukee but the police force," said Lauren Walker of Milwaukee.
