MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Brew City Banger is coming up on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13 at the Milwaukee Mile at the Wisconsin State Fair Park.
One of the co-organizers, Alek Wood says this is a much safer way to test your vehicle than on city streets with takeovers and burnouts unsafely and illegally done in intersections and city streets.
"Takeovers might seem like a fun thing to do when you're a teenager and you got the car out at night," Brew City Banger Co-Organizer Alek Wood says."But I don't think that you can really realize how dangerous this is to yourself and others around you.
He continues "Going to the track is the right place to build the skills that you think you're getting on the street. You should be on a closed course. With a helmet. In a roll cage. And the Brew City Banger is the right place to see people who are do that. To meet them and talk about how they prepare their cars. And do these kinds of driving maneuvers that maybe people are trying to replicate on the streets where they shouldn't be."
