Brewers and Red Cross team up to help give back to the community

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- At American Family Field, the Milwaukee Brewers and American Red Cross teamed up to make a difference.

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and packed 1,000 kits which would be distributed across our hometowns.

With the first pitch only a week away, one Brewers staffer thinks it's a nice way to get a head start on giving back to the community.

"As we prepare to kick off the season, we step back with gratitude," said Executive Director of Brewers Community Foundation Cecelia Gore. "We want to recognize we are a part of this community, we want to give back, share our resources and I think our employees feel the same way."

Along with this, the Red Cross will receive a $5,000 grant going towards basic needs in the community.
