MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After a big win for the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Crew are looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead. CBS 58's Lance Allan and Julia Westerman got a closer look at how the players prepared for Game 2.

First baseman Jake Bauers got a little emotional talking about how his wife stuck with him and helped him along his tough journey.

"Just supporting me anyway she can. It's been crazy. I've been crazy to see her growth as a woman and a mom. Yeah, I was standing out there last night listening to the national anthem, and I was thinking about her," said Bauers.

Bauers went to high school with Trevor Megill, and both of them have a chip on their shoulder trying to prove that they belong in the MLB.

Robert Gasser is the presumed NLCS Game 3 starter, and he's really been focusing on what the guys in front of him have done, Miz and Henderson this afternoon, in order for him to get ready for when he takes the mound in Los Angeles.

"Those guys are bulldogs," said Gasser. "It seems like every fifth day, it's the same person running out there so consistency in their work is one thing that I see. You don't really get to see it as a fan or a reporter but just the stuff that they do day in and day out to keep themselves healthy and pitch a full season, it's the impressive stuff."

CBS 58 will continue to share live reports from American Family Field, and when the Brewers hit the road again for the NLCS Game 3. Stick with us on-air and online for all your Brewers buzz.
