BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Brookfield family is uneasy after they say they found a hidden camera on their property.
"Something like this just scared the hell out of me," said Daniel Kim, who says he found the camera outside of his home.
Kim and his family have lived in their Brookfield home for 10 years. Kim says he was cleaning his yard along Tulane Court when he saw something suspicious.
"When I turn around, I saw something boxy shaped with a leaf covered, so when I got close to it, I immediately noticed it was a camera," said Kim.
Kim reported the camera to the City of Brookfield Police Thursday. Kim says the SIM card showed the camera had been activated for an entire week, possibly streaming video of his home.
"The camera was placed right there facing my entry door and the garage door, so I walked away because I was scared," said Kim.
Police say they offered to take the camera to investigate further, but they say Kim declined. Kim's wife did ask police for additional patrols. Kim tells us he's now using the camera for his own home surveillance.
"I hope they don’t come back ever again," said Kim.
Questions remain about who did this or why. Brookfield police say they're open to speaking with the Kims again.
