Brookfield teacher accused of making 'antisemitic gesture' in class

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An incident involving a teacher at a Brookfield middle school has prompted a letter from the principal to family members.

According to the letter, a teacher at Wisconsin Hills Middle School made what's being called an "antisemitic gesture" in class, something offensive to both Jewish and non-Jewish students.

The letter says after an investigation, it was determined that while the gesture violated staff responsibilities, the teacher did not intend to cause harm.

Corrective measures are being taken, including anti-Semitism education.

There's no mention of firing or suspension.
