Brown Deer police release bodycam footage of woman who bit officer at Walmart
BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) – Brown Deer police have released bodycam video showing the moment an officer was bitten by a woman at Walmart.
In the video, the officers say they just need to have the woman's identification and then she can leave. Instead, she left in handcuffs with a felony charge.
Officers were called to the store Sunday, because they say Shanterrica Johnson and another person were threatening an employee.
Video shows the officer explaining the situation to Johnson’s mom.
The officers wanted their fingerprints after the names they had provided earlier did not show up in the system.
Johnson is recording a Facebook live when an officer says they are going to be arrested.
"You have one last time, otherwise it's a $1,000 citation," an officer says. "Place your hands behind your back."
The officers eventually bring her to the ground, where she swings at one. Moments later, an officer yells, "She just bit me!"
An officer tazes her in the leg, and about a minute later, police have both of her hands cuffed.
She is eventually walked out in handcuffs, where she tells the officers, “And I whooped ya’ll (expletive).”
“That’s fine,” the officer can be heard saying. “You got a felony now, so good job.”
Johnson is due in court again in a few weeks.
