Bublr Bikes expands in Milwaukee adding more stations and e-bikes
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- People across our hometown are celebrating Earth Day Tuesday, April 22. In Milwaukee, Bublr Bikes thought the best way for them to celebrate was by expanding its bikeshare system in the city.
Bublr and Veolia partnered to add three new bike share stations, plus 12 electric e-bikes and 24 standard pedal bikes.
They say the expansion advances the mission to provide a network of inclusion connecting neighborhoods for all Milwaukee residents.
"Because of companies like Bublr, like Veolia that share our commitment to environmental stewardship all over Milwaukee. not just downtown, east side, Walker's Point or Bay View. But citizens all across the city of Milwaukee," said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson.
Placement of the new stations and bikes were based off research that showed key areas where they would make the most impact, considering factors like nearby students and workforce development.
Bublr will continue to expand in Milwaukee this year, planning to add 100 new stations and Bublr bikes across the city, both in downtown and previously underserved areas.
