MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin hit a deadly record in 2024, with 99 domestic violence-related homicides.

Now, Governor Tony Evers and the Bucks are launching a statewide campaign to raise awareness and connect people with help.

The push comes during Domestic Violence Awareness Month as state leaders call for more action to prevent abuse and support survivors.

"Folks, this issue is too darn urgent and too damn important," Evers said. "These are our friends, our neighbors, co-workers, families, loved ones, and we cannot look back years from now and wish we had done more and sooner to turn back the tide on where these trends are going."

If you or a loved one needs help, the 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline can be reached at: 1-800-333-7233.
