MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- While many people are gathering for the Thanksgiving holiday, for others, duty calls.
That's why the Bucks prepared a Thanksgiving meal for our Milwaukee firefighters.
This is the second year the Bucks culinary staff have come together to make this possible. They made meals for more than 200 Milwaukee firefighters who had to work on Thanksgiving.
"We roasted off about 40 turkeys this morning, butter roasted with herb, we have mashed potatoes, house made stuffing, house made giblet gravy, roasted vegetable gravy...apple pie, pumpkin pie," said Fiserv Forum's Senior Executive Chef, Kenneth Hardiman.
It took days of planning to make it all possible. The meals were loaded up into firetrucks and delivered to 30 stations around the city, as well as the dispatch center.
"It is terribly difficult to be away from family on days like today because you wanna spend the time reminiscing with your family and your friends. Unfortunately, the profession that we've chosen we don't have that opportunity."
MFD firefighters say they're thankful to the Bucks organization for the Thanksgiving dinner.
